I know we are still well in 2014 and more than a month to go for 2015. But I felt like making a vision board for 2015 – what would I like to happen in 2015? Quite a bit!!

A vision board is a collage of images which reflects your aspirations, hopes and dreams. Looking for your images around let’s say, your aspirations for next year, is a nice way to actually pin things down. What exactly would you like to realise this coming year? And not just in your professional life, but in all aspects of your life. It is a creative way of going at formulating your vision and wishes.

So gather magazines relating to your passions and interests in one way or the other. Let your imagination and creativity take over while looking for images reflecting your wish, as you obviously won’t find the exact representation. Of course, you don’t need to stick to images, also work with phrases or even just words that resonate with you. When you have gathered all the images and representations you want, take a big sheet of paper, I choose a red one, and stick them on it. Arrange them in a way that feels right to you. Of course you can also add some words writing them down on the paper directly – in the colour that appeals to you most.

If it is a vision board relating to your life purpose for instance, which is a much larger concept and also a changing and evolving one, you might not want to stick the images on paper but do it in such a way that you can make adjustments with time. Maybe use a corkboard or work with removable adhesive pads. That allows you to make changes, without restarting the whole creative process. You can also make such a board around your values for instance, just anything you want to aim for, why not that boat you have always dreamt of?

So last weekend I finished my vision board and have even given it a place on a wall. That again is a personal choice. You can put it away or you can hang up somewhere. I have hung it somewhere in my office area, where I can easily see it whenever I want but my clients don’t have to stare at it every time they come! You could also give it a place on the kitchen wall or on your mirror – so you see it often. Again, do as feel best for you.

A vision board creates perspective and is fun to do!

I am ready for 2015 – and the rest of 2014 will of course help me to make all my aspirations come true!
