I love this quote by John Mason:

This is what it means to me:

Stop comparing yourself to others.

Measuring yourself against others constantly consumes your energy and time and is quite frankly exhausting. Think about it: what are you really comparing?

Stop listening to these F*$! Voices in your head.

Everyone has some cacophony of doubt and self-deprecation going on in their minds. The art in life is not to give them much air-time. You can learn that.

Stop looking back at things you should/could have done.

Past actions and choices are stepping stones in the grand tapestry of your life. They are part of who you are today as they were likely very valuable lessons. Accept and embrace the past and look at what’s possible today and tomorrow.

Stop holding yourself back.

You are your only obstacle. Break free from the self-imposed limitations and fears that are standing between you and your success.

Stop thinking of what you can’t do.

Our brain has a negative bias which means we easily think of reasons why things don’t or can’t work.

Instead, be yourself and:

Discover who you are and embrace your whole self (the good, the bad and the ugly 😅 ).

Take the time to delve deep within yourself, exploring every facet of your being with curiosity, compassion and acceptance, including the imperfections that make you unique.

Develop more empathy towards yourself and as a result also to others.

Connect to who you are, to your essence. Doing so you’ll develop a higher sense of empathy towards yourself. From there you’ll extend the same understanding and kindness to others allowing yourself to nurture deeper connections.

Be curious about what you can learn and adopt a growth mindset.

Stay curious about what you can learn and keep your mind open to growth. See every experience as a chance to develop and improve, rather than something to hold you back.

Let go of what doesn’t serve you.

Free yourself from the weight of negativity and toxicity in your life, whether they come from relationships, habits or beliefs that no longer benefit you positively.

Step into your power.

Welcome your natural abilities and talents, confidently embracing who you truly are. Additionally, you have access to tools to allow you to create the life you want to live. Those tools are your empathy, curiosity, creativity, big picture thinking and your laser-focused action. Go for it!

Laugh at yourself a bit more.

Humor has tremendous healing power! Learning to laugh at yourself and the quirks that make you uniquely you, helps navigate setbacks and just bring more lightness. Let’s enjoy the journey!

How to move forward?

Pick one thing you want to stop doing and choose one you want to start doing. Do this really consciously and notice the change in you.

What resonates the most to you?
